Kaner, known as Nerium oleander, is one of the toughest and drought resistant plants. The beautiful and fragrant yellow, pink, white flowers in bunches are what your garden needs the most 😉
We in India consider this plant very holy and flowers are offered to Lord Shiva & Goddess Shakti. Religious points aside, few reasons why you should have Kaner in your Garden are:
They are very sturdy, strong and drought resistant.
Don’t need much care in respect of pruning.
Flowers are very beautiful and fragrant.
Available in many colors.
Available in single and double petal varieties.
Use big pots for planting these as they tend to grow quite tall. Add compost at regular intervals, say once in a month for initial 4 months and later on once every 45-60 days.
Caution: The flowers, fruits and roots of this plant are poisonous. Please do not consume any part of this plant.
